Pak vs Aus: Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi expressed his confidence and thoughts in a media conference held prior to their first practice session in Canberra on Sunday.

The left-arm pacer emphasized the series’ importance for Pakistan by pointing out that they are currently leading the World Test Championship points standings.

“This is a big series for Pakistan as we are currently leading the World Test Championship points table,” said Shaheen Afridi.

Shaheen Afridi stated that Warner has had a “great career” and has consistently produced stellar performances across all three formats. According to Shaheen, the squad does not anticipate a happy conclusion to Australian opener David Warner’s last Test series.

“We would wish him good luck, but we are not hoping for a good end for David Warner in his last Test series against us,” said the pacer.

Shaheen Afridi assured that the team is ready for the challenge that lies ahead, having already faced most of the recently confirmed Australian squad. He expressed his views regarding the preparation of the team, ahead of the three match test series against Australia.

“We have played against the recently announced Australia’s 14-member squad, and we are all up for this challenge,” he said.

“We don’t have much experience of Canberra, but I am sure this four-day match against PM XI will help us prepare well for the series against the home team starting from Perth,” he further added.

Shaheen Afridi also mentioned the recent, widely shared video of players putting their bags onto a container truck outside the airport in Sydney, claiming that they assisted one another in order to save time.

“We assisted since there were only two individuals, and we just had thirty minutes to make it to our next flight.” Before their first practice session in Canberra on Sunday, the fast bowler told the reporters, “We wanted to wrap it up fast and to save time.”

Cricket fans were shocked when they saw the players in a social media video packing their bags onto a container truck outside the Sydney airport.

The 23-year-old added, “We call this team a family and have helped them as a family.”
