Australia Tour: Chief selector Wahab Riaz unveiled the 18-man Pakistan’s Test squad on Monday for the three-match visit to Australia, which is expected to take place between December 14, 2023, and January 7, 2024.

Shan Masood was chosen as captain following the resignation of Babar Azam. He has been selected Pakistan’s captain for the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25 cycle.
As for Wahab Riaz, this will be his first job after taking over as head of the national men’s selection committee last week.
Pakistan’s fast bowler Khurram Shahzad and opening batsman Saim Ayub have been chosen in the test squad for their tour of Australia, and both are expected to make their Test debuts.
Pakistan’s speed attack will also be missing Haris Rauf, who has withdrawn from consideration for selection, and Naseem Shah, who is still recovering from the shoulder injury that kept him out of the Cricket World Cup in India.
