On Tuesday, a huge explosion shook a hospital in Gaza, that was crowded with injured people and other Palestinians looking for safety. Hundreds of people were killed, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry. The government reported that at least 500 individuals were dead.
The Israeli military claimed that a missile was fired by other Palestinian terrorists, while Hamas blamed an Israeli attack. The attack took place during Israel’s 11-day bombardment of Gaza.
The hospital was assaulted by “barbaric terrorists” in Gaza, not Israel’s military, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
When it was bombarded on Tuesday, Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital was housing hundreds of displaced people, according to a statement from the Palestinian Health Ministry. Under the debris, there are still many victims, it added.
Israel has been encircling Gaza for more than a week in retaliation for the deadly Hamas invasion into the coastal territory, which is home to 2.2 million people. In the meanwhile, hospitals all around the region are having difficulty treating the injured due to a lack of water and electricity.
More than 500 people, according to Hamas, which governs the enclave, died in the explosion. According to prior estimates from the Palestinian Health Ministry, the incident resulted in 200 to 300 fatalities.
Since October 7, there have been more than 100 assaults on hospitals, ambulances, and other healthcare facilities, according to statistics from the World Health Organization.

Since the Hamas attack, Israel eliminated all supplies of power, water, food, gasoline, and medication to Gaza, tightening the enclave’s already-existing embargo.
Canada, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, and Qatar were among the nations who condemned the hospital strike.
After the incident on Wednesday, US Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Tel Aviv, saying that Palestinian fighters were to blame for a horrific hospital attack in Gaza, and Hamas had delivered “only suffering”.
He claimed that, “I was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. And based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you,” Biden said as he welcomed a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.
Biden declared that he was “proud” to travel to Israel. “I want to say to the people of Israel — their courage, their commitment and their bravery is stunning,” Biden stated.
