World Cup 2023:

According to local media sources, Pakistan and New Zealand‘s exhibition match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, India, on September 29 would be played behind closed doors as a warm-up for the cricket World Cup 2023.

The police urged the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) to reschedule the match owing to security concerns since the police would be concentrating on religious festivities that climax on September 28, according to The Indian Express.

The game will be played without any spectators in attendance.The strict timetable led the authorities to decide against allowing spectators admission, according to the magazine.

Refunds will be given to those who have match tickets, according to the Indian Express release on Monday. The day-night match between Pakistan and New Zealand that serves as a World Cup warm-up has been cast in doubt ever since the HCA was informed by the police in the area that it would be difficult to achieve the security requirements set forth by the ICC for all World Cup games, including the warm-ups.

This is due to two significant religious holidays that coincide with the match’s date and draw huge crowds.Hyderabad police had voiced worries over security measures earlier in August as a result of a change to the original schedule, which resulted in the city hosting two consecutive matches on October 9 and 10.

As a result of the India vs. Pakistan game having to be moved from October 15 to October 14 since it fell on the first day of the Navratri holiday, up to nine other games from the initial schedule had to be adjusted.

Aside from the HCA, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) also asked the BCCI to reschedule a match in November because it conflicted with the Kali Pujo holiday. The CAB had asked that the match between England and Pakistan on November 12 be moved up a day in a letter to the board.

The BCCI complied with the proposal as part of the rescheduling of nine matches in their reply.It should be mentioned that Pakistan will compete in a total of eleven World Cup games, four of which, including two exhibition games and two warm-up games, would be held in Hyderabad.

On September 27, The Men in Green are anticipated to fly from Dubai to Hyderabad.
