Narowal: Ayesha, a 13-year-old girl, died from a snakebite as a result of claimed neglect at many state hospitals. In Kamalpur Chishtian, Tehsil Pasrur, District Sialkot, the tragedy took place, leaving the mourning family and the neighborhood seeking answers.

Ayesha was a Class VIII student and the daughter of Muhammad Yasin, a native of Kamalpur Chishtian, Tehsil Pasrur, District Sialkot. The snake bit her left hand as she was dozing off in one of her home’s bedrooms at night.
She was bitten by a snake about 9:30 pm when she was sleeping in her bedroom, according to her father, Muhammad Yasin. On a motorcycle, he rushed her right away to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Pasrur, but when he got there, he found that the doctor was off duty and the paramedics weren’t willing to treat her.
The doctor was subsequently summoned right away, who examined her and informed them that they lacked the antivenom and laboratory equipment.

After seeing a doctor, Yasin relocated his daughter to the Narowal District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in an effort to preserve her life. When she got there, the doctors ignored her daughter as she writhed in pain and were preoccupied with playing games on their phones.

Yasin was advised to seek private medical attention when her suffering got worse. He chose to transfer his daughter to a private hospital in Narowal after becoming dissatisfied with the behavior of the physicians, but she passed away while being transported there.

The DHQ Hospital Narowal possessed antivenom and a laboratory test facility, but the doctor paid little attention to his daughter. Yasin was furious since neither antivenom nor a lab test facility were accessible at the THQ Pasarur, where his daughter had been bitten by a snake.

Outrage and demands for accountability have been aroused by the tragedy, and the family has asked Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi to step in. An investigation was started when Dr. Muhammad Rehan, CEO of the District Health Authority Sialkot, asserted that THQ Pasrur had antivenom on hand.

Snake Bite:

Snakebite injuries should never be taken lightly. There are bites that are poisonous, which can be fatal if not treated promptly, while some bites are dry, which are less harmful and will probably cause some swelling. If you’ve been bitten by a snake, you should always get medical help right away since it might be the difference between life and death.
